Granola and Multi-Tasking

A few days ago, my mom, my sister and I were making granola. Correction: my mom and my sister were making granola and I was taking pictures. ;)

And yes, we were multi-tasking, making lentils as well as granola. ;)

The finished product. Delicious.

Music and Words

During violin, I took out my old digital camera and began snapping some pictures of my violin, music book, and my typewriter on the floor. The dinky digital still has a few more good pictures in it yet. ;)

About Bekah Grace Photography

Bekah Grace Photography is a blog I started because I wanted a place to share my photos. (My main blog is here.) For a long time, I regarded my camera as un-important, and photography as a nuisance. I never really took interest in it until a few months ago, when I took my camera and a couple of friends, and just experimented outside. Even though my camera was a dinky digital one that I had owned for a few years, it took relatively good pictures (granted that I edited the Brightness-Contrast slightly on Gimp). I was shocked at the pleasure I experienced in pressing that shuttle button and capturing moments. It was then that I started researching cameras--realizing that my digital wasn't the best--and found the Nikon D40x. I immediately decided that I wanted to buy it. But with help from my dad, I did extensive research, and realized the Nikon D3000 was much better for only a few more hundred dollars. I decided that this was the one I wanted to buy. I bought it, and it takes incredible pictures. I am very content with it. Now that I had a decent camera, I wanted a seperate place where I could share my pictures, so I created this blog. :)

About Me

I Am fairly tall, with blonde hair and grayish-green eyes (some of my friends have thought they were blue; occasionally they will be bright green or cloudy gray [depends on what color my shirt is], but mainly a mash between those two colors).
I Write all the time. My favorite genre is fantasy, as my extensive imagination dislikes boundaries, and fantasy is the only genre that allows anything—no matter how wild and crazy—to happen. One of my best friends who read my writing immediately dubbed me “Bloodthirsty Bekah,” and I am not surprised by the nickname. The perfect story for me is one in which every character dies. ^^

I Doodle like crazy. Any and every blank margin is completely covered with random sketches by the time I’m done with it. I am not particularly fantastic at drawing, so my drawings are merely doodles, nothing more. I doodle stick figures, flowers, castles, trees, ice-cream cones, shapes, hearts, cats...very random things, whatever happens to be on my mind at the moment.

Quotations cover my bedroom walls, my door, and my desk. I am a complete quotations junkie. I would love to be able to cite quotations as liberally as Mrs. Who does in A Wrinkle In Time, although I do think my family and friends would be annoyed by me after a while.

I Do Not read books, I consume them. I go through on average about four-five books a week, if not more, though this depends mainly on the length and reading level of the book. My favorite authors are Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, P. W. Catanese, Wayne Thomas Batson, Lois Lowry, Shannon Hale, Christopher Paolini, J. K. Rowling, and Suzanne Collins (I probably forgot a million ^^), along with some of my friends’ writing (I have very talented friends ^^). When reading some authors--mainly Tolkien, Lois Lowry and J. K. Rowling--I read some passages out loud, just to savor the feel of the words on my tongue.

I Play the violin and the piano, though I mainly do the latter for fun. I love the violin; music is a way I can express myself. I play songs that reflect what I am feeling at the time. I have always wanted to play the guitar, but a cut tendon on my left hand makes it difficult to do so.

Nothing Is More Beautiful than the sound of a shuttle button capturing a moment forever. I own a Nikon D3000 and I love it to death. It takes incredible pictures, and is perfect for the aspiring amateur--I don't even know if I can be dubbed the title amateur. I just got into photography a few months ago, and I already love it. Capturing beauty is one of my life's main goals--whether by words or by photos.

Crazy is my middle name (not really, it’s actually Grace). I start laughing hysterically at the most inopportune times (as in prayer, sermons, dentist appointments, quiet time, etc.), and sometimes at very stupid things. I love to laugh (and also do it way too easily); the world can always use a bit more laughter. I get into—as my friends so affectionately put it—"weird Bekah moods" about three times per day. To find proof of my insaneness and (occasional) immatureness, just read my blog.

I Strive to be everything and anything that God has planned for me; wherever he wants me to go, I will go. However, I want to be an author (whether or not that means getting published) and a photographer (perhaps only a hobby). I use a Nikon D3000 and love it.

Thank You for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoy the glimpse into my personality. Feel free to follow (who doesn’t love followers?), comment, subscribe, and please come again! ^^
